CELTIC ACADEMY (FOCA)

FOCA is holding a meeting on Sunday, February 28th at
2:30 pm in the small studio of the Celtic Academy Building. Members
of the CA (both parents and dancers) are invited to attend this
meeting where we will be discussing fundraising for 2010 and
electing new officers.
Do you do a lot of driving? If so, consider purchasing gas cards
through our Scrips program. FOCA receives a percentage of each gift
card that is purchased. More information can be found on the

UNIFORMS:
Please see Mrs. Monigan if you need a costume for
Celtic Movements! If you borrowed a costume for the Oireachtas,
please return it immediately. If you have an urgent costume need
please email me at michele@monigan.net and I can arrange to meet
you.
CELTIC MOVEMENTS:
presented
by the Celtic Academy of Irish Dance, will entertain and delight all
Irish dance enthusiasts. This year the show will be held on 6 March
at Northmont High School’s Auditorium and highlight all levels of
Irish dancing. Unique choreography meshed with traditional dances
will entertain the audience. Tickets go on sale mid-February.
Volunteers are needed to make this show a success. Please
see the bulletin board for opportunities to help or e-mail Lynn

BOWLING PARTY:
Join Celtic Academy friends, and friends of friends, at a Bowling
For Kilts party to benefit our school’s World Qualifiers & All
Ireland Dancers!
The fun takes place after our Celtic Movements Tech Rehearsal
Sunday, February 28 at Poelking Lanes, on Wilmington Avenue near
Patterson Road in Dayton (minutes from the studio). Bowling starts
at 6:30 p.m. Sign up in teams of 4-5 per lane, and compete against
other teams for goofy prizes (best team spirit, lowest/highest
score, most splits, etc) and bragging rights naturally. 50/50 raffle
too.
Sign up you and your friends; pit family against family or kids v.
parents; dance class against dance class. Pick your lane and get
insane! Sign-ups begin this week. Contact Mary Robertson with
questions (657-3735).

Celtic Crush is a
new fundraising effort benefiting the Dayton Celtic Festival. Fans
of the Festival gather on the First Tuesday of every month at
a favorite Miami Valley pub to eat, drink, socialize and get inside
information on happenings of the Festival and its entertainers. 20%
of every bill from Celtic Crush patrons will go to support the
Festival. Simply wear your Celtic Festival logo wear and write
‘Celtic Fest’ on your bill. The craic starts anytime after 4:30 p.m.
(Hey, you really didn’t want to cook that night anyway, right?)
